Routers job is to determine the best path for a packet across the network
The primary responsibility of a router is to forward packets to local or remote network by deciding the best path to send packets and then forward packets toward their destination using that path.
Network News Transfer Protocol is a prime set of rules which is used by both computer’s clients as well as servers in order to manage the comments situated on the Usenet newsgroups. In the past, NNTP was introduced as the substitute of original “UUCP” protocol. But now NNTP servers can handle the collected international network of Usenet newsgroups. Moreover, such NNTP servers are included at your ISP (internet access provider). But an NNTP user will be included as a part of following explorers like: Netscape and Opera etc. But another separate client program can be added too as a newsreader.
What is Router and what is he doing?
Router is the device that has the ability to route packets. In other words, primary responsibility of router is to find the best way for a packet to arrive at his destination network and forward packets from one network to the next one through this selected path. Devices on different networks would not be able to communicate if there is no router between those networks.
Network Time Protocol provides the service of time synchronisation for all devices on the network (which have NTP service available and configured).
NTP service usually listens on UDP port 123. It will most often distribute UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) along with well planed leap second modifications. But no other information like time zone can be forwarded with it. It means that your devices can get the clocks sync with NTP but you first need to be sure that you configured time-zone on that device so that he can show local time.
Today’s one of the most admired network service “E-mail” has been modernized the concept of how to communicate worldwide with simplicity and speed without spending extra money. However, to run this service on a computer system or any other end device, e-mail is needed some specific applications as well as services such as application layer protocol “Post Office Protocol” (POP).
In the first article we said some basic things about LLDP protocol and what is he doing. In this part, we will show all commands that can be inserted into Juniper router to make it run LLDP.
